Want to automatically send referred users (aka the people invited) from Referral Factory to another app like HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or even Google Sheets? You can now do that using Make ✨
When someone signs up using their friend’s referral link, Referral Factory can trigger an action in another app of your choice – like creating a new lead, contact, deal, or opportunity. That way, your team can pick up the referred lead without skipping a beat!
Let’s show you how to do it using Make👇
Step 1 (Optional): Set Up Custom Fields In Your App
Want to send extra referral info into your app? Before building your scenario, you can create custom fields (or columns/properties) in your chosen app to store things like:
Last Name – of the referred user
Mobile Number – of the referred user
Referrer First Name – the name of the person who referred them
Referrer Email Address – the email of the person who referred them
Referral Campaign – the name of your Referral Factory campaign
Referral Link – the unique link generated for the new user
This way, all your referral data lands exactly where you want it 🚀
Step 2: Create a New Scenario
→ Log in to Make
→ Click on the “Create a New Scenario” button on your dashboard.
Step 3: Set Up Your Trigger (Referral Factory - Watch New Users)
→ Select Referral Factory as the trigger app and “Watch New Users” as the trigger event. This trigger fires when a new user is referred to your campaign.
→ Click on "Create a Webhook" and follow the prompts to connect your Referral Factory account.
→ Select your referral campaign.
→ For the question “which users should we send?”, select “Referred”.
→ Click "Save".
Step 4: Set Up Your Action (In The App Where You Want to Send Your Referred Users)
→ Click on the "+" sign to add another module. This could be a CRM like ClickUp, a spreadsheet like Google Sheets, or an email service like Mailchimp.
→ Select the action event, such as "Create New Lead," "Create New Subscriber", “Add New Spreadsheet Row” or another event that represents a new contact being added.
→ Follow the prompts to connect your account.
→ Map the information from Referral Factory to your action app. Typically, you would map the user’s First Name and Email but you may also choose to send additional information such as the details of the person who referred them.
→ Click "Save"
→ Save the scenario
→ Set the schedule for when the data should be sent
→ Your scenario is now active and ready to start automating the process. Make will then automatically send referred users from Referral Factory to your selected app.
