With our custom event triggering feature, you can now issue different rewards for different referral-related actions, making your referral program more dynamic, flexible, and tailored to your funnel.
What Are Custom Events?
Custom events are actions that you define (e.g., "demo booked", "became customer") that can be used to trigger rewards at specific points in the customer journey, not just after a single signup or conversion.
Example Use Case: Tiered Rewards for Referrals
You can now create multiple rewards for the same referral, based on what their friend does: For example:
Action Taken by the Person Invited | Reward Given to the Person Referring |
Friend books a demo | Referrer gets $10 |
Friend becomes a paying customer | Referrer gets an additional $50 |
How to set it up
Step 1: Create A Custom event
In your campaign dashboard, go to the “Actions” column.
From the dropdown - select Events.
Add your new event.
Give it a descriptive name you will remember later.
Click "Create".
Your event will become available for reward logic and webhooks.
Step 2: Fire the new event to trigger the reward
1. Go to the Users tab, locate the user who completed the event.
2. Click on the Actions column and scroll down to Events.
3. You'll see a list of your events.
4. Click on the Fire button to fire the events and trigger the reward.
Step 3: Create the reward for your event
Go to the Rewards tab.
Create a new reward.
Select the custom event that the reward should be triggered on.
Activate the reward.
